As I Walked Out

As I Walked Out was an eight week journey with four donkeys, carts, children, young people and nationally commissioned artists and writers travelling on foot across the six districts of Gloucestershire. At weekend camps along the way devised work was shared with the public.

What happens when I let go of this yearning for a place to belong? What is an 'authentic' connection with landscape?

Travelling in this group through the Forest of Dean I held conversations with people, the forest, the donkeys and anything else I could talk to about territory, home and unbelonging. A final performance explored itinerants' experiences of geography and identity.
